Sarangani Province, Gumasa

LITTLE BORACAY

Everyone whom I know is asking what can I recommend for a best place to go if you are in southern Mindanao. Well, most of them doesn't know and unaware of the places that have potentials, but afraid to try because of the arm conflict they have heard about Mindanao. I have already previewed various places in Mindanao, so that tourists may know that crimes and arm conflict in this area is just an isolated cases.

This beach is also known as a "Little Boracay of the South" in comparable to the beauty of the Boracay. Gumasa offered a long stretch of powdery white sand. A one and a half hour travel from Gensan city proper, you can experience a crystal clear water in a white powdery sand that Gumasa has to offer. Unlike Boracay, Gumasa is not crowded and a party place, resorts are already offered for overnight accommodations. If you don't like the over crowded shore line and lively sounds during night time, in Gumasa you can get and enjoy the serenity of nature while away from the busy life of City while in vacation.

Sarangani Province, Brgy. Siguil, 4ml Beach

COLORS

Early rise hoping to get a good outcome by chasing the first vibrant colors of the day. It is always a perseverance to make a glory. Saving my time to sleep early in preparation to my early travel to this place. It is located somewhere away from our home, but distance is not always an excuse for an enthusiast traveler. I really spared that day during a short vacation to my hometown, to share the wonderful natures of the Southern part of Mindanao.

THE PLAYGROUND

So tranquil and felt sooth when I saw the outcome of this picture, unlike from what I have felt before, when I almost burnt out for some preparations to capture this moment. Several insect and mosquito bites on my legs and arms, I forgot to bring my insect repellent due to excitement. It was a third time I went back to my homeland, until such I have this extra time to visit this place. A playground of some good landscape photographers of Gensan and other nearby town. I have seen several photos of this place, a good photographs, different angles, and different mode of the day. No matter what it has to be the outcome, I still admired of what they have got.

MY PRIZE

Now I understand what makes this place so special. From the foreground, to the mid ground, the background and of course to the subject itself so natural and vibrant in colors, this place have many potential for a landscape photographers' taste. Mangroves always added spices as an ingredients to the good photographs that have taken from here.

So sad when I realized that this place is now foreclosed and bought by new owner, no plans as of this moment of what will be the development for this place. As I remembered during my college days we always went here, doing some excursions and family bonding. Just one ride from a city proper of Gensan. Although this place is an outskirt area, transportation going here is not a problem, this beach is located along the national highway going to the other part of Sarangani province. Just don't make it too late to catch a ride, but if you have your own car it is an advantage to go anytime of the day.

Formerly, it has been called 4ML beach resort. An almost white sand sea shore with a good potential in any resort businesses that can be put up here. It is a one hour drive from the City proper of Gensan, along the area several resorts to choose for.

MANGROVES

It has been taken cared by the DENR for previous years to promote ecological diversity. To give natural habitat and breeding ground of marine lives, small fishes and other marine living creatures makes the birds to fed, a balance of nature that we should take care.

SUNSET

Sunset and sunrise moment always made my travel complete... Aside from that, main attraction in this island is bird watching, where you can witness different kinds of bird species. By using zoom lenses you can see them in a far distances. It is highly prohibited area for those who are into wild life hunters, there will be corresponding penalties and laws that every tourist should abide.

Puro, Biliran

HIDDEN BEAUTY

Sunset scene always made me awe. On rushed to take some shots to this small island, off shore from the port of Biliran municipality, riding a small boat enough to accommodate two persons is our transportation to this small island. A good view of this sunset made this place very special every time the sun gave colors to the sky.

A good view of Biliran main island taken at the port. This long exposure made a beautiful effect of streaking clouds and made the water calm and misty, added with a dramatic colors as a reflection from the sun that was about to vanish that day.

On the other side of the island, you can find a main bridge connecting the two islands. You can see  a beach resort own by Chan's family. It was a great site to wait for the sunrise, an idealistic to shot because of the mangroves used as a foreground.

STARRY STARRY NIGHT

As early as 3:00 AM a clear sky made this shot advantage to get a great view of milky way. Taken from the M and M inn own by Mr. Jun and Antonette Chan. If you happen to visit Biliran municipality it is good to check in to this place it feels like your are in home of your own.

Nasugbu Batangas, Places, People and Foods

Sunday, January 27, 2013 3 (mga) puna

WAWA PORT

Wawa port is located at Brgy. wawa, Nasugbu, Batangas. This place is very familiar to some photographers who loves landscape for its grandeur view during sunrise and sunset of ever well known Payong-payong point. A crust of stone carved by the nature due smashing waves, an off shore stone formation during high tide and noticeable during low tide. Mostly the landscape photographers took advantage during sunset for its vantage point.

Going to payong-payong point must have to ride a banca (small boat) to take you to the other side of it, from wawa port it might cost P10.00 per person. Right and there you can have your rest or you can leave your belongings to the interlink beach resort. They called it interlink because some times long ago the owner of the cottages along the shoreline have connected with a cable and an Internet link that serves the area, it was named after the company who brought fort for their connection and it was an Interlink. Cottages are own by Nanay Precy Morales a well accommodating owner with her family leaving near the Payong-payong point.

Barangay Wawa beach shorelines have offered a brownish sand, an irresistible to dip into its crystal clear sea water, where you can also over see the fortune island. Most of the beach goers often stayed at the Interlink, a mini sari-sari store that have offered a groceries and small products for a quick relief of a hungry stomach. The place is familiar since it has been a venue before of one of the most prestigious fantateleserye Mutya.

LOMI

Noticeable delectable foods have found here on the nearby place where we stayed during our shoot. This small short orders restaurant is simply decorated with a canopy and umbrella with a table serves as a dinning area. The place is not that huge like restaurant, but the foods are great tasting, we only have noticed it while we were on rest, looking for a place to stay for awhile. At first we ordered an 11 cups of Halo-halo to chill down our exhausted bodies after having a very tiring but enjoyable photo walk in Nasugbu. I forgot to take a picture of Halo-halo, but I will try to describe as good as we have tried the best halo-halo in town, comparable to some fast food's halo-halo? The sweetness is not just sweetened by a sugar, a mouth watering tasty is a well balance made just right for our taste, from a secret sweetened ingredients made specially for this merienda food. Well this is something special just hidden in the inner most community of Brgy. Wawa, Nasugbu. A not so well known fastfood but some customers where coming from the other side of town just went here to order, in fact some have a cars. Great are foods and budget is good.

We tried also their Lomi, the special taste of this food is not what you get from its appearance or how it has been offered but it is how they have prepared and can call it a master piece of every dishes they have made. The taste itself can do make you more than satisfied for an affordable cost you might spend. A single order of this one have been tried by a more than 10 photographers and convinced enough for what they have tested. Look for Lomihan sa Kanto by Mr. Willie Sarasa located at Malasugi St. Brgy. Wawa Nasugbu, Batangas, just right beside the grocery store of Tita Helen, who dearly welcomed us into their home a very well accommodating person as well as her family.

We would like also to acknowledge the effort of our friend Kanayon Caloy Iblasin through his initiative to make this trip possible.
